Concept

Adding the requirement to secure, protect, and develop, river crossing before your unit can cross the river.

Situation

One of the teams must establish a "new" crossing in order to reach their final objective.

Non-combat Game Objective

Consider one of the bridges as incomplete at the start of the game. The construction of the bridge becomes one of the game objectives. The attacking engineers need to invest time at a specified location "building" the bridge and the defending team must prevent or stop the engineers from finishing it.

Methods

Puzzle

Method

  • Set up a large, easy to see puzzle at the start end of the bridge.
  • The engineers from the attacking team need to assemble or solve the puzzle at that location.

Victory Condition

  • The bridge is finished when the puzzle is completed.

Notes

  • The puzzle loses it's usefulness once the bridge is active.
  • The puzzle could be reset by an admin if the team takes too long to complete it.

Timers

Method

  • Set up a timer at the start end of the bridge.
  • The engineers need to remain at that location "working" while the timer counts down.

Victory Condition

  • The bridge is complete when the timer rings while a live engineer is at the location.

Notes

  • The engineers turn on the timer when they arrive and turn it off if the are hit.
  • This has no capacity for fast-tracking by using more than one engineer.
