Suggestion on avoiding losing stuff on the field

I've noticed that lately there have been a few people who have dropped or lost things on the field. Crying or Very sad So I politely offer some suggestions to OpFor players on how to avoid losing your stuff. Smile
Ideally, you should be able to run, jump, crawl, roll around on the ground, whatever.... AND not lose anything. Other than my gun and maybe my boonie hat, everything on my person is securely attached.
- Always secure all your pockets. Buttoned, velcroed, whatever... make sure they're closed at all times. Don't keep anything in pockets that do not seal (eg., front slash pockets on US style BDUs. This accomplishes two things. First, nothing in your pocket should fall out if it's sealed properly. Second, it'll help you look a little more like a professional soldier. So many times I've seen people put things in their pockets but not button it up. Recipe for losing things.
- Use proper gear to hold & store kit. Use some sort of webbing or vest to store your gear such as magazines, ammo, radio, etc. Again, always close the pockets/pouches properly. Don't place things in pockets/pouches that don't fit (eg., where you can't properly close or seal the pocket). If you take something out return it as soon as possible.
- When changing magazines always secure the empty mag. Return to a mag pouch; use a dump pouch; use a magpul (or equivalent) to attach to a biner (carabiner) on your vest.
- Airsoft pistol (GBB) magazine catches generally do not hold as tight as their real counterparts. Tape magazines in or keep the magazines in mag pouches until ready for use.
If you always make a conscious effort to replace things back where they belong, it'll become second nature. I've played airsoft for over 5 years and haven't lost anything. I must admit that being in the CF did help. Loosing kit in the CF had serious consequences. or maybe it's just my OCD. Laughing
Guns?
You can't do much about stuff breaking off your gun. But losing loose parts can be minimized if you check your gun over before & after all field use. Gently tighten all screws, nuts, etc. as required.
Some parts on airsoft guns aren't very secure and have a tendency to come loose:
- General
- If your full stock butt cover is not tight, make sure you tape it or something to provide extra security.
- Pins: when new they're all pretty snug. But disassembly/assembly takes their toll. When reassembling, if it goes in too easy, it may be able to come out too easily. Add some tape or something.
- G3 examples:
- Sling pin on full stock. Tape inlet hole over, so pin cannot fall out even if loosened.
- Front handguard ping. Tape or otherwise fasten to gun.
- MP5 examples:
- Front handguard ping. Tape or otherwise fasten to gun.
- AUGs
- Alternate ejection port cover and rubber butt plate. If these are not tight, you may wish to add some tape for extra security.
Anyone have any other gun tips?
Once, I did break the cocking handle off my MP5SD6, but short of removing the handle (which some people do) something like this may be unavoidable.

Also, before you leave a field to move to another make sure there's NOTHING left. Last person out should take a good look around the setup area to make sure nothing's left behind.

Wrapping electrical tape around any mag (both AEG and GBB) can increase it's width just enough to make it snugly fit without falling out, and it won't be seen once it's in the gun as well.

for a g36, check the mag screws (lost one of those), the rail screws (yep, one of them too) and especially the foregrip pin(pending (Wink) )

AK 47: check and snug-up ALL screws before every game. AK screws comes loose extremly easy. Also the butt plate is known to pop off; good luck finding that. I wrap a piece of electrical tape around the edge to ensure I'll never lose it because it's a hard part to find.
Pistol, keys, tools: Lanyard-I hook up all small iteams to my vest. Key and tool lanyards can easly be made out of electrical wire and shrink wrap. Nothing's wore than walking around with your head down for hours while eveyone else is playing.

for armalites, i have had many things fall out but luckily i've always been able to find them, but here goes:
- carrying handle knobs, give 'em a good twist and they won't come off that easily
- slither stock scew that holds in the little piece at the bottom, use the hex wrench thing and tighten the little hex screw that goes into the actual knob
- magazines, like uni said, put some tape on them or maybe a little dab of glue gun on near the top of the mag. be sure to make it really little otherwise you'll have one hell of a fun time getting that mag in
- motor plate screws, i know this is really far-fetched but a couple of monthes ago (when i was actually playing), i came out of the field for lunch and i found that on of my motor screws were actually loose, so loose that i can just press my finger against it and it would twist. luckily i think it happened just as i was getting out of the game but the main reason for this is because the stock marui pistol grip for the armalites have plastic screw holes and they suck @$$. thats why you get a guarder pistol grip...

and especially the foregrip pin
Laylax G36 pins is a way to go! There is no way that sucker comes out on a field.
I have also notice a problem with some beretta's selector switches. The part on the right side of the gun tends to fall out.
