An older format that was used in the 2008 Milsim worked something like this, supply drops was called in to a location and meet by the a small unit of that team to pick up a ammo box from the heli chopper (ie admin). That small unit had to carry the ammo box back to HQ for the resupply.

Once ammo supply was taken in a limited time that small unit had to return the ammo box back to the chopper (Admin) so further resupplies could be done. I remember the ammo supply "Could" be captured by enemy forces during supply drops if spotted or overrun enemy HQ. The ammo back then was supplied by the club as part of the Milsim fee but the only problem I could see was that some folks we're using different ammo other than .20 or .25 as I ran into that issue at during last milsim because I was using .30 for my DMR and also I could not make the supply drop because of the enemy action. I would keep that in mind.
