Q: Dress Code?

Post2013-11-10 / 22:07 UTC GMT +00:00

Hey Guys,

I come from Kelowna, fairly new around here. I used to be apart of the Penticton group "Hard-Corps" a couple years back.

Unfortunately, I've lost just about every single piece of my gear due to some unfortunate mishap or another, save for a single G36 mag and my gun case.

Basically saying: I need to start fresh again, and I simply dont have my connections anymore (they retired), and as we all know, good Airsoft guns here are very expensive beasts. (unless someone has a resource they could share with me)

Im looking at some basic stuff but it will take me a while to get up and running again fully. I simply just NEED to get back out there again and get going (need the exorcize, badly).

For new players to this particular club/field/etc, what is the general outlook on civilian clothes, and clear-coat guns? (it kills me to ask this question) I know they are of a lower quality but to just get back into it, Wal-Mart's AEG's are afforable and work (for a while).

It may seem silly to ask, but I know of a few groups/clubs that dont allow either one or both of those things (striving for absolute authenticity I guess)

Also, first post, hi guys!

Cheers,

~K

We support players on the field from all levels of equipment. The most important thing to us the the player's attitude. We expect players to fully engage in the scenario. As long as you work in your team, playing your assigned role or squad's mission, you can even look like a Beverly Hillbilly.

You will find many outlets for affordable gear locally as listed in the BC retailers section of the forum.

Many of our players also have gear to rent or sell. So consider that when you look at the game sign up section, too.

That is precisely what I was hoping to hear :)

One thing regarding the Radios, it says "Essential Gear" but is it "Required gear"? Just so I can prioritize the order of my purchases accordingly.

Also being its November and there are still game days, are the games year round? And in winter, are there indoor game days?

Thanks for the quick response!

You can dress in a pink bunny suit if you want (I wouldn't).
Blue jeans stick out black is better, camo is cheap for used at surplus stores.
Don't buy a walmart gun, rent for starters.
Come out, check it out most guys will let you hold what there using and see how it fits tell you anything you need to know and you can go from there.
My suggestion would be get a radio before a handgun.

Welcome to the club :)

LMAG plays year round. I lived in Kamloops the past 2 years and I've seen the indoor venues that Kelowna club has been able to play at (CQB field in a hockey arena blew my mind yo!). LMAG plays at Panther Paintball and at Maple Ridge Paintball, which are both Outdoor fields (rather large ones too). For CQB games you can try http://www.airsoftgear.ca 's forum. I believe they do indoor CQB games at Richmond Indoor Paintball. For gear and stuff, check local surplus stores first. Most of them have some good deals. If you don't see anything that tickles your fancy, try http://www.ebairsoft.com. I have bought a lot of my kit from them. They can take a while to ship, but it's free shipping. For civi clothing, dark/tan materials work best. Hell, hotsauce wears brand name jeans for his PMC style loadout lol. But i wouldn't get a walmart gun. You can always rent from Panther, or if the game day is at MRP, PM a player or post up a thread in the rentals section.

One thing I'd def look into though down on the coast is a good set of sealed eye pro. The air on the coast is more moist and humid then up in either Kelowna and Kamloops, so fogging is a bigger issue, especially in the fall/winter months. Anything low profile, like Smith Boogie Regulators or anything of that nature is guaranteed to be fog city. A lot of guys swear by JT dual pane thermal PB goggles.

Anyways, do your research, shop around (but check the local guys first and help your neighbours stay in business), and ask around. A lot of us have buttloads of info that we don't mind sharing

Guys,

Keep in mind he used to play with Hard Corps and is checking to see if we're hard core or casual.

Entry AEG (CYMA/JG/ECHO 1 /god forbid Lancer)guns are like 20 more dollars than canadian tire or walmart guns so there's absolutely no reason except for masochism for you to go that route. Prices have gone down significantly in the past two years, so I think going the non-clearsoft route shouldn't be too hard a stretch if you're down to clown.

Really though, if you are dying to play, the Lancer Tactical AEG's, while being plastic, are essentially good to go for around 100 bucks. Check them out on torontoairsoft.com or revolution airsoft. I think they have an AK that's even cheaper

And welcome to LMAG!
