However in all honesty thats up to you if you want to. 175 ft is pretty good especially for an aeg. Remember airsoft is very inaccurate, even the thousand dollar guns. We go for hits not groupings. Honestly some consider being able to get a hit out of five shots as a mastery of airsoft sniping at the longer ranges. On paper, or in this case on screen, airsoft does not reach far. Some of the good gbbrs get out past 300, and some very upgraded spring bolt rifles. doesn't seem so bad on the field though. Considering your gun, I hear the top techs are pretty much decked out.
Its my first gun, i took the advice of a friend who said if u want to buy, buy well and buy once. The tr418 was asthetically pleasing while maintaining good specs on paper. Honestly i dont regret my decision as its put up with all my noob stuff. It wasnt too expensive as far as airsoft goes and still maintains ability for good customization and performance. I love it. I thought it was the gun at first that was having the problem but it seems that it may be me. I honestly think 75% of the problem is fogging with 25% being, as u said, over expectations. However as u said when u r on the field u cant really see people past 150 ft anyway so its actually pretty good. I think i may add a longer barrel in later tho, just to try to keep my accuracy as good as i can.

Try practice shooting on the LMAG test range at the field, and (without your kit but with protection and visibility vest) observing game play until your ride comes back.
I may do this not only to learn the game better and see how more experienced players play, but also i may bring a video camera and do some filming. Especially for players with gopros and youtube channels who want to add a third person perspective to their video.

If you want better range AND accuracy,at least a tight bore and a spring upgrade. shooting a gun with an fps of about 375-400 will do it for you. You should reach over 200 with that easy.
How short is the barrel you have? Can your gun handle a heavier spring?
As for how good you think you play on the field all comes down to practice. You can practice all the shooting and moving all you want at home or private field, but the big difference is on the field, SOMEONE IS SHOOTING BACK! You cant beat that.
And for the scope, you can get a riser for your red dot(recommended for the shots you know will hit target) or shave down your mask a little.
My barrel is about 26 cm and you are completely right about the difference between practice and field. But at the same time if i can aim and shoot in practice it should help my game on the field even a little bit. Also im pretty sure my gun comes with a 6.03 mm tightbore but its just a g&g one. And is 400 allowed with .25's? If it is then ill probably go for that spring change although i will probably get damageinc or someone more experienced to do it.
I wasn't the one who brought a knife to a gun fight, you're the one who brought a gun to a knife fight.
