Sniper Certificiation

Post2013-09-23 / 04:22 UTC GMT +00:00

I kno that im still pretty new but i thought that it would be nice to have, cause im thinking about getting into sniping after ive had some more experince, and just in case i have to borrow someones gun in the moment on the field. Also some of the accuracy points could be useful even with aegs, as i am not too accurate with aegs. So is there a course coming up? How much does it cost? Do u have to be a member to take the course? Any other things i should know about?

I don't think you need to worry about your radio or sniper certificate yet. (Just my opinion)

First you should worry about honing your skills: Disclaimer: *I'm not saying that I'm great, I'm just providing a list*
Practice cheeking your gun the EXACT same way every time.
Practice shooting
Practice bringing up your gun faster
Practice tracking and target acquisition .
Hand signs. Link below
Practice crouched running, urban prone, prone, sitting position.
Practice offhand shooting.

Iceman made very good comments.

I got into sniping role after 3 years of being a rifleman. Everyone is different in my opinion and if you are really interested and dedicated into sniping, go for it. You can have your bolt action rifle to a maximum 450fps without taking a course.

Here is some details of the previous Sniper Course we had.

Iceman is correct about sniping skills, but the radio is important gear on the size of field we have.

New Players should focus on listening to radio traffic but only following their squad leader's orders. The radio helps make sure everyone knows what's up, including non-play emergencies.

@Jsae I was in no way saying that he should not get a radio but i think that he should probably just get a GMRS radio,
I think a radio is one of the most crucial pieces of equipment a person can have.

I love all these suggestions they give me something to look for and practice thanks so much. As for radio, i have a motorola almost exactly the same as dices radio and a 20$ ptt from future shop thats almost like a phone headset. Its basic, but it works.

One of the reasons i was looking to take the radio cerification tests is that i cant even understand my manual and i have so many features on my radio i dont know how to use. I mainly just kind of listen to what people say unless i personally am asked a direct question. For example on saturday i dont think i said anything at all!

A for those wonderful suggestions i hav a couple questions. As i am under 18, i am required to wear a full face mask, it can be hard to cheek my gun. Any suggestions? Also, as for things like practicing shooting or using my offhand, is there anywhere i can fo and actually train like a range? Because i live in a fully resedential area and i really dont want the cops at my house because someone saw a kid with a gun. Also any other suggestions regarding shooting accurately? I know once i get fans and can actually see my targets it will help a ton, but even when i can see i might get one or two hits in a whole game. Is that normal? Or do i just need practice and experience? I kno it wont happen over night, but i just find it hard to improve without knowing how.

As for the radio I don't think you will need to use many of the features as long as you have Vox turned off already.

As for the cheeking situation it might be hard for you to learn how to cheek your gun with a face mask in the way, but that doesn't mean it can't be done.(I see people tilting their head to look down their sights)
You can always go play at panther with the panther airsoft group so that you can hone your skills.

Last game I got 3 confirmed hits (others there were a few of us shooting at the same person) but I also helped other people by providing suppressing fire, pointing people out they hadn't seen and reviving people(when I was a medic).

Airsoft doesn't have to be about how many hits you get, I like to help out my team mates and to work as a team.

My training area for me is my room. I close my door and shut the blinds, and practice stances, transitions, and movements in front of a mirror. I do this of course with empty mags and no battery or hop up/Inner barrel in the rifle so that it is as safe as possible. But I probably spend at least 20 min a day just practicing quick mag changes, tactical mag changes, pistol transitions, stance and movement transitions, driving my gun and working my trigger finger at a few targets in my room, and I find my game consistently getting better every time I am down for a game. Now, for cheeking the rifle and having to wear a full-face mask, yeah that probably would be a little difficult. But where ever there is a will there is a way

I love teamwork and that bubbly feeling u get when u toss a team mate a mag and he proceeds to win the game because of that mag. As for the mask, its hard but hopefully ill get used to it. Good thing about the radio, vox is turned off, its just that after i change the channel i get like 6 more things. Like qt, and ivox and a little symbol with clouds.

I like the quote. However as i am only thirteen i still with my parents and my mom isnt the coolest about me swinging a toy gun around when i could be using the time to study. However ill try to spend maybe 15 mins a day practicing what u specified.
