my intent was not to upgrade right now but to do it later. As for maintenance shouldnt any player be doing that? But i do accept ur advice about upgrading the player. What should i work on first?

Yes every player should be able to clean there barrel (turn your hop up off).
Where to start is read everything on the fourm to start, I'll take awhile but there is information there you wouldn't even think of asking about.

AEGs have relitively low maintenance. Clean your barrel, clean your hop up bucking and thats pretty much it. If and when you do open the GB shell grease the gears, cylinder, pistonhead and the piston rails. As long as you are getting good compression there is no need to open up your gearbox in fear that you need to maintain something.

my masada is going on 10 months and it still shoots a sizzling 400FPS. no need to open the GB shell for me.

Clean your hop-up bucking?

... I considered needing maintenance when I started, too. But the mechanisms are very robust and generally sealed. The gun techs convinced me to leave it alone until it stopped working as well as I wanted it to.
