I believe that Mikefxd is referring to booking an exclusive session with one of the local Amateur Radio clubs or organizations that have qualified instructors.

I believe that the following radio organizations have current examiners:

• VECTOR (Vancouver Emergency Community Telecommunications Organization) - 4 weeks long
• North Shore Amateur Radio Club - 10 weeks long
• Surrey Amateur Radio Club - examiners available
• Delta Amateur Radio Club - 6 weeks long
• Coquitlam Amateur Radio Emergency Services Society - 3 weekends
• Richmond Amateur Radio Club - 8 Saturday mornings
• UBC Amateur Radio Society - All Saturday, test on Sunday

Per person costs vary between $ 90 and $ 130 which cover the cost of handouts and testing.

A quick run through your favourite search engine (https://www.duckduckgo.com, https://www.ixquick.com, and others) will find the information on any of these groups. So an interested player could contact them to join the next class or ask about a group class.

If you practice the questions from the computerized practice program or read one of the books any of the clubs offer (UBC has theirs at the UBC Bookstore, for example), then you can contact an examiner at your local club and arrange for them to test you.

Challenging the test will reduce the amount you pay directly to the exhaminer, especially if you only use the computerized program...

Is there an online course where someone could do this? Sounds fun and interesting. Hopefully there is, and its somewhat like my boating course where I would do it after work here and there and finally it was done. Considering I run the puxing, it wouldn't hurt to understand and learn its full capabilities.

The Vancouver Emergency Community Telecommunications Organization had a 12 year old girl pass with 100% to achieve her licence once.

You only need to achieve 70% to pass.

Does that mean a 13 year old boy can take the course? Or was that just an exception?

I have a question though...
When in channel mode, I tried changing menu 19 to OFF but it would not save it for some reason.
I have this annoying tone before transmitting via PTT.

Is there anyway to get rid of the annoying tone before transmission when pressing PTT in channel mode?
