Question of the day 3. BPS how much is too much?

Post2013-09-09 / 01:10 UTC GMT +00:00

BPS (balls per second) how much is too much?

Change to a lighter spring = higher ROF (rate of fire)
higher discharge lipo battery = higher ROF
higher voltage battery = higher rof
lower ratio gear set = higher rof
timaya to dean connecters = higher rof
low resistance silver wiring = higher rof
high speed/high torque motor = higher rof
mosfet = higher rof

as you can see here there is a ton of different things you can do to get faster rate of fire out of your AEG's. What do you think the perfect ROF is and why?

I personally think that the perfect ROF is 18-22 BPS. Its fast enough that you can supply a quick 3-4 shot burst at a moving target but its not so fast that someone will get pissy at you for giving them 30+ bb's to the body/head.

to me, 25+BPS is ridiculous and at that speed we are bridging the gap from Canadian airsoft and American airsoft. I don't know about you but I have seen countless videos on American airsofters that have crazy 30+ bps AEG's and their idea of gameplay is holding the trigger down and spraying there target. To me that is more of the paintball type of play and not tactical airsoft gaming.

so whats your opinion?

I guess it is all in the player! I very seldom use auto fire at all, if I do it is normally for suppression to help an advance or retreat, 16-18rps is fast enough for me, the higher you go the harder it is on the gun, 25RPS at 400fps is a failure waiting to happen far sooner than 18rps at 370fps, it just simple physics you wont put a 500hp turbo on a stock Eng and run it up to 8000rpm very many times!

but in the end its player styles and fun factor, some guns are way for fun than others :D
you went FULL RETARD!!

I dunno, i kinda like my game to be more realistic so i like my guns not too high and too low so it can compete in all situations. About 15 bps is where i like to be

I think that it needs to shoot fast enough so that I can lead a target with a stream of bb's and they will get hit but no faster than that. Maybe 15-18 BPS

30bb's per sec for me. Semi only and use quick bursts for suppression. Cant spray and pray anymore, BBs are now expensive.

I like the idea of having the ROF closely ressemble the gun.

Also, I like being able to pull the trigger on auto and still being able to let off a single.

30 rounds a second should be left to gentlemen with higher will power than myself.

A midcap in 4 seconds.

Love the daily questions Gunny.

How bout some newer player comments.

The nice thing about airsoft is there is no wrong/wright answers most times.

is this a DSG build pinoy?
I would love to see a breakdown of internal parts and mods if you don't mind. I remember shooting that M4 of yours and honestly it was jaw dropping. trigger response was INSTANT. better than a PTW if my memory serves me.

7.4 or 11.1???

I really don't care that much for rate of fire. Any stock gun with a 11.1 gives a good enough rate of fire (12-22 bps)for me and doesn't require allot of gear box maintenance. That being said if or when I get my hands on a Polarstar HPA system I'll be testing it to see if I can get the 40-45 bps they claim is possible.

Polarstar can get up to 50-60bps. You need bb sponsor for it :P
