Goggles - fogging solution?

Post2013-07-27 / 02:18 UTC GMT +00:00

Just had my first airsoft experience last night at panther and had a great time except for the terrible fogging i was having with my goggle. Was wondering what goggle people would recommend. The ones i have appear to have very good ventilation. The vents are covered with foam so i took it off and also tried some antifog spray i bought from a glasses store. Gonna try it out this weekend at ambush but i have my doubts about it working. I have seen some fan add ons online but cant find anywhere that sell them. Thanks

JT paintball double lenses are what I have and they have never fogged and it's been 8yrs in all seasons but if you are like many and fog regardless I recommend a Google fan kit from our resident fan guru Gunny. He sells the entire kit and trust me, if you run his system you will never fog again and itkeeps you a little bit cooler in the summer.

As long as the vents are too small for a BB to force through, you'll be OK. But better solution is to use fans or lens treatments.

Well it sounds like you had a good time last night. amagine how much more fun you will have when you can see better    .

If you come out to Panther on Saturday you will see some very ingenious fan setups to address fogging up. If you like to wear a baseball cap check out Dices' setup ;)

What set of googles are you running now? That is the best question to answer first then we can suggest a good setup to fix your fogging issue.

Hope to SEE you out on Saturday at Panther.

Shoot you later, ;)

Airsoft Gear might have the wrong photo.
The Loadout Master goggles may look like this:

The ESS goggle you might like instead:

Please check to make sure any goggle you use is certified as ANSI Z87.1-2006 or EN166 capable, or at least ASTM F1776-12.

I bought the ESS powerfan goggles today from ASG since I too have been having horrible fogging problems and I'll be trying them out tomorrow. I'll tell you how they are working out if you see me tomorrow.

On a side note:
When I went to the store the only ones they had left were the display ones and I had to make a tough choice: wait and don't play tomorrow, or buy the display model... I chose to buy.

Super.

I have added a section about fogging to the Airsoft Info for goggles. Something so easy to forget once you solve your own condensation issues....

Thanks for the replies. Bought the 55 dollar goggles with fan from airsoft gear and tried them out at ambush on saturday. Even with all the heat and playing for approx 5 hour i didn't even once have the slightest issue with fogging. The goggles feel a little cheap and the strap doesn't tighten well but besides that they work great and for 55 bucks u cant go wrong.
