Approved goggles

Post2013-07-16 / 18:12 UTC GMT +00:00

I lack the knowledge needed to be able to tell if these goggles are approved for play at Panther. Is the certification US MIL-DTL-43511D on the goggles okay for the listed ANSI Z87.1 certification needed?

These are the goggles https://www.buyairsoft.ca/accessories/a ... clear.html

If anyone can answer this it would be greatly appreciated as I would like to avoid buying goggles I cannot use. Thank you.

Speaking from experience yes those bogies are acceptable on most field but not on all still.
As for usability they are not very practical if you plan on running when you play here on the West Coast.
You will fog up. I have tried a few times this spring and summer so far without any success. I tried an experimental fan setup just last weekend with some success but that was with a setup on a helmet.

The best thing to do is come down to the next game day to see the latest mods in eyewear, there are a few.

Come see me and I can show you what some guys have done.

That's the .22 calibre ballistic impact test.

Goggles are often cross-rated for ANSI Z87.1-2010 or MIL 43511D (Clause 3.5.10) and EN166. The ESS Profile goggle, for example.

I know a guy that has gamed with these goggles. 10 min into a game he was walking off the field to change goggles.

personally I use paintball goggles that I have retro fitted x2 computer fans connected to a rechargeable 12v battery. its like air conditioning for your face.

with my goggles I can still see through all my optics and I have no intention of changing to anything else.

On the topic of goggles: (I believe it can go here)

I have been using Desert Locust's for the last few games and have had horrible fogging issues... So I'm thinking of buying the ESS Power fan Goggles. Does anyone know how well they work, or can anyone recommend any other goggles that may work for me?

(I tend to sweat a lot since I do a lot of running)

Secondly, I've tried fogtech anti-fog, but that hasn't helped at all.

Thirdly, Gunny where did you get the mini computer fans? I've done a little research to find them but haven't found any yet.

I have a set of ESS turbocams. I have owned them for about 10 years and apart from the foam wearing off the goggles are the best I have owned. They are lower profile then my JT goggles and the fan will clear fog/condensation 99% of the time.
Mini computer fans can usually be found at electronic stores. Lee's electronics here in Vancouver has a lot of them in stock specifically for guys attaching them to goggles. I think they are 15mm sized.
