Jun 01 - Operation Hallowed Ground

Post2013-06-02 / 04:14 UTC GMT +00:00

Finally played my first all day sim, and what a day it was. Good turn out. Weather stayed dry, but a little muggy. Game play moved along quite well. Lots, and I mean lots of good firefights, even got a few pistol kills, which are always satisfying. Hats off to Deep 6 and all the Admins who made this day a great day. And to the Rangers.... It was great playin with you guys, as always. Till next time.

Holy Cow what a great fuckin day!
A huge hats off to Deep6 for putting this together.

this sim was pretty smooth flowing with lots of different things to do but was simple enough so that it didn't bog down.
lots of great fire fights! some intense fighting in the swamp we finally pushed back or killed all the enemies.

from respawn points to collecting dead players cards and finally getting a hang of airdrops / strikes, this game had it all

got lots of great kills, I had a blast,it was my first time out in 4 weeks wont let that happen again.
thanks to all who came out and played
and again thanks to Deep6

Five compliments, from the Western CO:
  • Deep6 for a great game plan
  • Char for gritting through his painful ribs to help Deep6
  • zRampage1980 for slipping into my base after an airstrike, but getting shot
  • my Executive Officer Dice for getting us going
  • all my squad leaders and players for keeping organized

Our teamwork, despite imperfect radio communications, helped us to kidnap the Eastern CO's political leader!

I have some better ideas for using the air operations. Let's try that one again. Next time, I'll be sure to charge my command radio batteries and spares, plus prevent laryngitis before the day.

great work out there today ... only got shot up once wearing the high vis vest and kill toque, cant say i blame him after 2 airstrikes on the western forces base(with one lucky player surviving both) they were getting smarter by the last strike of the day and ran away before i got to the final drop loc

all in all i think it was a close game with western forces capturing harper and eastern forces getting 2 of 3 assassin targets

hopefully ill be back in action in a week or two

Who got the most cards at the end of the game? Had to go after the draw.

Well I have to I haven't seen that many intense firefights in a long time  .

I'd like to thank all the stores that provided the sweet prizes and was happy that everybody ended up getting at least one prize and some getting two with the donated stuff

SPONSORS

DSTactical 007airsoft Pocomilitary and Panther paintball

Again Thanks for the great prizes and you made lots of people happy with new gear.

Back to the game, I have gathered up all the points and well it was pretty close until I counted the kill cards. The Christy Clarks were able to steal and ransom off Steven Harper which nullified the assassin targets that the east got but the East held more spawn points and were able to collect way more kill cards so with no further ado-

STEVEN HARPERS EASTERN CANADIAN FORCES WIN(this round)

I thank all that game out and Char for hobbling along side me for the day helping keep the game flowing and strikes a goin. I do plan on running part two in the end of the summer and will use some feedback on changing a few things as it was hard for the commanders to get a airstrike off quick enough to catch the group they were aiming for. But utilizing the air assets are very important and when they finally got used they worked very well.

Thanks again for all that came out and if you have any suggestions please feel free to post them up.

What a day!
First off big hats off deep6 that was amazing!

Bushman good job on being the CO in the morning.
Our whole team did an extant all day right till the end.
I got to be 2 IC in the morning that was cool.

Now my highlights: I tryed to join a group but they had it on lock down (I died trying to get a card).
I normally run in a pack... but I followed dead players all the way from the edge of tire fort to the Capri before radio'd to Bushman that he would have critical intel coming in very soon.
That's when the dead player in front of me turned around looked at me and said "your not on my team" I said you just noticed (this was at Capri).
I followed them down to the north bridge but I knew crossing it was a death sentance.
I bugged out after all the players had gone over the ridge, I hid and gave intel on assassins targets and how many players where in the HQ to Bushman, good job on the other team knowing I was there somewhere and finding and killing me (I put up a fight but it was futile lol. My blead out time was just up as a player got to me, he crossed the creek to get it so I gave it to him anyway, he deserved it.
More to come (iPhone is not the best for posting, makes my eyes buggy)

Many thanks to Deep Six for the planning and Char for assisting him with the game day.
Well the morning was kinda easy for me as all I had to do was point them in the direction I wanted them and they took care of it on there own. The new guys I had out front of me did a good job for a couple hours then they pushed up too. Just as two came back to check in a few sneaky and lucky players that are now, ON MY LIST, got in shot the three of us and took our leader. I hate to say it, really, but good job guys. After Jethro took over as co I pushed up airsoft side and exchanged bbs with some enemy close to refinery. And that was great work by the Pimps pushing and holding the refinery for so long. And shooting the targets. And nice try for Rampage with a sniper rifle.
As for the Devil Dogs, thanks. You always do your best.
I do like the fact the enemy takes only 1 card per death. that means you have to work harder to get cards and you can still respawn if you have a card.
The airdrops were really cool but when the enemy catches on it can end up being a death trap when you "land". And I think the grids should be smaller.
Once again, THANKS
Some people think I am trying to be sneaky, its really that my eyes are not as good and I have to make sure its a tree and not the enemy! Trees do not call hits. I have shot a few.
