Here are some old games from the vault, the game details need a little updating for the new field, but which do you like?
  1. Engineer Retrieval - Flight Lima Mike 2013 carrying a classified two-part chemical weapon crashed in the wilds of a classified foreign nation leaving two Engineers and two inactive modules stranded and separated. A retrieval team code-named Team YELLOW has been dispatched to locate, secure, and retrieve the the Engineers and the modules.

    Hostile locals code-named Team ORANGE are patrolling the area where witnesses claimed that they saw parachutes. Team ORANGE aims to collect the modules and sell the weapon.

    Team YELLOW can communicate with the Engineers, but Team ORANGE noted the general locations where the Engineer's parachutes landed and will be searching those areas.
  2. Recon Attack - Rebels have obtained a mobile missile platform and are assembling it near a populated city. Government Forces have narrowed the search to a small region approximately 1.44 sq. km in area. Government Forces must set up a scanner to pinpoint the Rebel position for destruction before proceeding to prevent the activation of the missile platform.
  3. Dennison's Devils - Air Force flight 264, a research or intelligence-gathering craft, was lost off radar yesterday over Mongolia/North Korea/China/Iran/Russia. Satellite telemetry indicates that the craft ended up in four pieces and that local forces (designated ALFA ECHO) have found most of the pieces and are defending salvage operations at the sites.

    BRAVO FOXTROT has been dropped in to retrieve the most important component. Command has yet to finalize orders, but only a few options are available. BRAVO FOXTROT will carry a code card with all the options, and Command will issue orders in the field on BF's first radio check in.
  4. Tour of Duty Patrol - Vietnam Conflict, ca. 1968: USMC patrols area along river from location A near their base to location B. Viet Cong ambushes the squad.
  5. Search and Destroy - Three fugitives flee government forces (fallen government forces become supporters of fugitives). Time limited.
  6. Bunny Hunt - Small unit has to harass and eliminate a larger force as the larger force tries to eliminate them. Time limited. Check out the Noob Bunnies Variant

I dont know if its been mentioned but search and rescue would be cool.

Have to look for two guys holding position, no coms.

We call that one "downed pilot" or "pararescue". Just ask for it at a game day, any admin or marshal could run it. I still need to add it to the game reference, though.

The pilots can radio their team hints of their location.

If I get into amateur radio foxhunting, we could give the pilots "fox" transmitters and I'd go on the pararescue team with the hunting antenna.

Also games bringing "bombs" to objectives would be cool. Or even just having about 3 flags or ribbons on the field and the attack teams goal is to take them down. Or hide objects somewhere in the field and the team that collects most wins. They could also steal the objects from the other base, so it would be a mix of attack and defend. Similar to capture the flag I suppose. Additionally there could be no respawns, and the only way to bring someone back is to bring the objects to their spawn to bring someone back, meaning defenders could still be cut off from spawning. I think the idea of having teams have to gather, defend and cut off resources would be a really interesting dynamic. It keeps people moving, and having to co-ordinate the pros and cons of different objectives. Should mention multiple objective gameplay would be really neat too, and each completed or failed objective brings different consequences and gains.


It would be cool to do on easter! Could have used easter eggs :) . Unless that was done already.

Games where theres multiple vips, and each has a different kind of ability of sorts to the team would be cool. Having to hide which ones are the VIP, and figure out who the enemys VIPs are. Such as one VIP allows full auto, another one allows the team to spawn, and the other one is the communications, and if theyre hit, what can be said on the radio is restricted to announcing when a VIP is hit. That would be a cool dynamic to.

Or a game where collecting resources allows a team to choose who gets a new ability, whether it be a limited revive medic, someone who uses full auto, radio communications, allow more players on the field at one time, lets players take off a brightly coloured tape etc. All various perks that an admin can allow a team to purchase at various costs.

Ideas from other forums actually come up with similar point systems, but its kinda taken from videogames anyways so its not really original. Other people have dragging a ragdoll across the field. I guess kind of like that team fortress game where you push a cart... or i guess football as another forum puts it. A game where a bunch of people on one side start off wounded and scattered, and whoever revives the people get to keep them on their team. I remember overhearing something like battlefields conquest set up at another field. We could replicate that with stop watches with red and blue tape at different capture zones. I could maybe try to build something like that, it doesnt really have to be too fancy.

These probably have been thought out here before, but I wouldnt know, havent played with lmag for too long :P Theyre not really all for a milsim type more serious game, but they do seem fun. I cant really think of much else or find much else right now. Just a bunch of scattered ideas to be mixed and matched tho!

We have a bunch that we played, and I'll post more up, but here's a game we used that was a lot of fun and promoted tactics like target acquisition.

Game name: Assassins
Game type: free-for-all/survival

Rules:
- All players start in seperate areas, and their main objective is the elimination of all other players to the end of being last man standing.
- Any player killed returns to the respawn and then tags in as an "assassin".
- Assassins are armed with only a knife, they may drop their primary weapons or any other heavy piece of kit at respawn to increase their speed, and return to kill the remaining players trying to survive.
- Assassins cannot be killed, and shooting one eliminates you, as you'd then have to return to respawn and become one yourself.
- Assassins can work alone or in groups to corral and eliminate surviving players.
- Players must move quickly to eliminate remaining players, while avoiding, evading, or hiding from any assassins.
- Assassins without a knife may use hand touch instead.

Result: the game will quickly snowball into a survival/elimination game as there are exponentially more and more assassins in play. It's quick, it's fun, it's relentless.
