New goggles

Post2014-04-20 / 20:32 UTC GMT +00:00

So my goggles after 4 years divided to kick the bucket. I have always been really happy with my tj dual lenz unit with my fan kit installed. I am looking for something a little lower profile. Any suggestions?

Me and TJ have been using these
http://www.ebairsoft.com/tactical-shooting-protection-glasses-goggles-p-90.html
They don't fog up too bad. And I'm gonna try out on my back up pair if drilling a few small 3.5mm holes on the border of the lense will help keep a stable airflow through it and prevent fogging

I had a set of the t800's and they sucked, fog city for me but I sweat alot and fog up most single pane lenses. I have a set off ess turbocams that are awesome. Moderately low profile and have a small stealth fan built in for fogging. It runs off of 1 aaa battery. They have lasted for 10 years but are seriously on their last legs. I recently picked up a set of revision bullet ants they are just about as low pro as you can get. Fogging seemed ok but havent had a chance to field test them yet. I would only buy legit eye pro as the knock chinese stuff is most likely not rated. They often fake the ansi and csa ratings on things they reproduce without any testing.

Lupo I only had a look at your goggles online. But the venting doesn't seem to big enough to pass air in and out of the goggle effectively to keep them fog free.

Also I don't think that they are going to pass inspection at the paintball field. That's not to say they aren't good but it would be one of my concerns.

Yeah not so sure how pb fields will treat the revisions. They are a sealed goggle , more so then t800 but they do look an awful lot like glasses in the photos. The venting on them is alright I did a test run with them and they didnt fog but only time will tell.

I run both the revision Bullet Ants(ONLY BLACK) and Locusts(In OD) and have the fan kit installed in the locusts and never have any issues. The revision ants I have worn up at the old mission field and never had any fogging issues with them but then again I was sniping and not moving around a hell of lot up there but had no issues with them. They come with two styles of straps and lenses and change out really quick.

Would recomend either set but the locusts might be more all round suitable for the fields you will be playing at Gunny. More then welcome to try either of mine out but you have to come play here in K-town :)

The balance between fogging, face protection, cheekweld, and headgear is all very hard to maintain. I've stuck with my JT thermal lenses due to their versatility, clarity, and their ability to practically never fog. My experience with x800's is less than satisfactory with fogging, however they are perfect fit for helmets and everything else.

Anything ballistic I'm weary of in airsoft due to fogging issues, though. Paintball goggles, despite their bulkiness, have been consistently effective. I would consider ballistics with fans inside, though. However my JT Spectra thermal lenses have been nothing short of terrific, despite poor fit with helmets.

Don't fix what ain't broke I guess.

However, if you do find something lower profile that performs just as well, I'm all ears. I want to wear helmets...

Prairie, I bought a pair of the revision desert locusts at Dave's when they first came in. But they came with the dark lenses. I did check the link you supplied in regards to ordering a set of clear lenses. But the shipping was as much as the lens cost itself. That is a big freakin ripoff. Is that particular lens available in Canada?

Andres, I just got a base jump helmet and used my JT's with it. They fit, but it is tight. I find them just a little too bulky for a comfortable fit. I do agree that that goggle performs well.

However I do find that if I don't wear a brimmed hat or boonie the fogging issue with the T800's isn't so bad. If you allow for air flow through the lens they actually stay clear.

Hey Crash I can get the Revision replacement lens for $22US Clear,Smoke, Vermillion and Yellow.
I would suggest you put fans in those goggles though. Look at Cav or some of the fan setups that I have installed in some of the guys Revisions.

@ Gunny I have some low-profile goggles they are the smallest dual-pane that I have found. You can take a look at them on Sunday they work well with the fan kit installed bullet proof.
