Radios, headsets and other life savers

Sorry Jsae but if we have our own channel how are the players that get cheap radios going to hear us. I will not get a license ever if I can avoid it. Just more gov't control.
I guess some people are "by the book" and some take the backyard technique. Wanna guess which I am?

If LMAG was to have it's own frequencies, the GMRS radios would end up being our PRR radios and then the squad RTO would run a longer range radio with the LMAG frequencies as well as one with GMRS for his squad.

For a commercial license, I think LMAG could hold the license as an organisation and give permission to all its members to use the channel. I need to check. You probably be more able to avoid licensing your UHF/VHF under this case than the amateur case.

The commercial radio license costs a bit more because it's annual, while the amateur license is lifetime with no annual fees.

Having our own frequency would eliminate outside traffic.

Then again, how often are we dealing with outside traffic at MRP?

Not so much.

But we could set up repeaters... and antennas....

If you want to do something with radios get people to use them, and use them properly! We can have all the repeaters or antennas you want but if only 5 guys USE radios what difference does it make? Enough people should have them but most of the time they are quiet.
