Anybody rocking a M14?/version 7 gearbox?

gents, does anybody have any experience with version 7 gearboxes? I am curious about the following:

Durability (is the shell prone to cracking?)
Version 7 part availability
upgradability.

Which model of M14 are you looking at? Not all Version 7 gearboxes for M14 are equal.

I found working on G&G and TM if you are trying to put a M120 or higher into it you will need to grow a third hand or in your case a very understanding wife when you ask her to put her hand in your gearbox without bring her some flowers first because your will be sruggling with the spring it tends to want to "pop out'.

I did come up with a fix and a tool to get this all to work in the end. I would ask haircut at first to hold the parts in place but he would be distracted with his bloody phone in his othe hand and would move the parts that he was in charge of

Im thinking G&G. did you find that parts were readily available? (trigger switch tappet plate, selector plate )

I recently bought a TM M14 off the inactive player. I was very curious with the internals so I took it apart. Gotta love taking down the hop-up unit, lol. There are tons of little pieces to disassemble I run out of time and I didn't have the chance to open up the gearbox.

I've searched online for parts availability and they do exist. Although, I haven't seen an online retailer that carries everything.

Looking from the outside of the GB it looks solid. For me, M14 should be a DMR or semi-fire only and GB breaking shouldn't be a concern. Is it that hard to put a M120 spring on a M14? I better find out.

In Ver. 2 GB, I don't have a problem putting in a M190 with a spacer half the length of the spring guide.

TM Ver.7 Gbox are tough.

I have been into three, the TM is good, lots of upgrade parts, some of the China made have proprietary parts, as mentioned they have lots of little external parts, springs, screws etc. not he most user friendly of enjoyable rifles to work on. on a socom I used to have, I used Guarder full tune up kit with gears, it worked flawless.

not all v7 mec boxes use the same gears as well... tm uses v7 specific gears, g&g uses v2/3 gears and a few of the clones iv come across look like a tm v7 box but wind up using v2/3 gears

As you can see you better Know your way around the Gun. Not for the beginer, be prepaired to pay Danage, Char, Pinoy or me Extra to put it back together for you

G&G is much more easier to take down. TM M14 is like where the #%#^)$)^^)#!!! does this part go? or you'll end up with what you thought extra parts.
