This is the elite of the elite in units. These units are expected to play right through (38 hours) the game. They will be starting at 11:00pm Friday and going right through till 13:00 Sunday. They are expected to eat, sleep, and operate at all times during the game. They will be given operational objective to complete during the 38-hour stay in country. Tier 1 groups will need to have a minimum amount of gear to qualify for this position.

Tier 2: MAIN FORCE
These are the hardened veterans of the core and have a very important role in the military. They will have a base camp set up and operate from there. These players are only expected to operate 12-16 hours a day under the field command. They are expected to at least eat in the field, run patrols, set up fire pickets, guard the base perimeter, support the special forces groups when asked, set up ambush sites, and whatever else the field command asks of them.

Tier 3: NOVICE PLAYERS
These are the newest players to Milsim and they will be playing under the supervision of the main force groups. They are expected to be out in the field for 8-10 hours a day with the option to partake in helping out the main force at night with fire pickets, patrols, intel gathering, or just sitting around the camp fire telling stories. Throughout the day they will be taking commands from their field command and fighting right next to the main force groups.

Tier 1 with Cav Prairie, Spaz, Drunken Teddy, and hopefully a couple other Dogs as well.
Some people think I am trying to be sneaky, its really that my eyes are not as good and I have to make sure its a tree and not the enemy! Trees do not call hits. I have shot a few.

Out of those who are going, how many of us have actually committed, and bought the ticket(s). I will be in the next few weeks after I get my PAL.

Hey guys, I wanted to let you know some of the plans that are 'in the works,' as I, obviously, won't see a lot of you guys face-to-face as often as some of the other teams and such.

I am working on a rank structure, of sorts, in an effort to make communications go smoothly, as well as to add to that 'sim' feel. My end-goal is to have several squads grouped in a platoon. I know you already have your squads, which is great, and I need your designated 'squad leads,' from each. In addition, could you please work-out who would be your Lieutenant/Platoon leader? I'd rather you come to a decision on your own, as, really, I don't know who would be the best choice from your contingent, and I'm sure you have some pretty smart people that would make great officers. Besides, I was told my original 'Thunderdome' method of choosing was counterproductive.

What I would like is to have only the necessary people on the command net, to keep chatter and confusion to a minimum. So each Platoon has a contact person who may, or may not, be the Platoon 'leader.' I relay any updates, mission etc to this individual, who passes it along to the squad leaders - and, obviously, the Lt., if they have a designated radio man.

Same coming back the way. I feel it would be easier to keep your squads together, as you guys have closer ties to one another, know each other's strengths and weaknesses, tactics, etc. Of course, if you'd rather be broken up because one or the other squad smells funny, that can be arranged, too.

Moving closer to the day, and once I have some more of the groundwork/structure planned out, I would love to have the various Squad leads and Platoon leads (should they prove to be different people) all gather together and discuss various strategies and such. I have some preliminary plans - which, by the by, your 'platoon' would factor heavily into, as it stands - but obviously need/want your input, too. I'd prefer briefings to occur before we all get up there, but we'll obviously try and squeeze one more in before the big kicks off.

As always, any questions, shoot me a PM/mail, what have you. Thanks, guys. Hoping we can all make this a new level of epic. If interested, I can lay out the very raw plan for Operation "Make Alberta Soil Themselves" (Name is still a WIP) in a separate thread. At this time, you guys are a pivotal part of this plan.
