Ferns is the eastern part of the zone marked Area 2. Grid squares are 50m x 50m.

The playing space spans from the property line west to the west side of the gully and south to the wetlands (green line).

Space approximately 27 500 square metres (6.75 acres or 2.7 hectares)

We didn't use the entire area the one time we played on it, but what we used was fairly big. Could easily have 30-40 people playing in that space. There are a lot of hills and natural cover. Even some trees with big holes at the bottom that you can shoot through. It is easily playable as is, it could use boundries and maybe a structure on one side to be used as a base. The other end of the field has a big hill and a hole (about 3ft deep, 6ft long and 4ft wide) beside it, either the hill or the hole could be used as a base on that end.

If anyone playing can send me a GPX file (from a handheld GPS receiver or their phone), I can map the Ferns field properly.

I went for a walk on that beautiful sunday morning that was scratched I didn't start setting boundary markers just because I don't want to start without a proper approved map from the Map Master . But by my map reading skills and walking the playable boundaries I figured that the playable area is or like 15 to 16 acres.
Looking at the map you have made, I get something like this: from 547000 south to 545732 north. Then 529600 & 547000 up to 5457080 then to red border. Then @ 5457100 & 529700 up to 54573000 then hit creek then east to boundary @ 529865

But your suggestion of someone walking Fern field with a GPT would be a good Idea.

The MotionX-GPS app i use for hikes and camping can export gpx files. I'll see what I can do on sunday.

I was just reading thru the thread and wanted to give a quick reply

I am open to the possibility of having airsoft games on Saturdays
My main concern is the parking
I have about 60-80 spots in the main lot and probably 20 overflow (freds land)
On a usual Saturday in the busy season we will run from 100-200 players over 2 sessions (10am and 2pm)
Even without any airsoft cars on a busy day the parking lots is straining to be adequate
If I use freds land for overflow I usually kick him some cash for the trouble

Sundays are never as busy as Saturdays and this was my reasoning for limiting airsoft to those days

If we can come up with a parking solution then I don't really have a problem with airsoft on Saturdays
Some ideas might be creating an airsoft lot further down the road (could be work intensive - its quite boggy)
Or a reliable carpool system

The other minor concerns are
- neutral zones/playing fields
On busy days both neutral zones and most fields will be in play - this means airsoft would be limited to ferns/gravel pits for play - (we have a lot of unused land if you guys wanted to build more fields)
A separate chrono area off one of the airsoft fields would be needed to not clutter up the current one if I have 100 renters in it

- gun safety
As usually im pretty strict on Barrel bags at all times unless playing - more people just means this has to be watched by you guys even more (my penalty is the player goes home - no warning)
Please don't discharge guns/clear mags on any paintball field - it freaks out the refs...

- goggle safety
I would prefer players wore goggles from the time they pass a net or bridge
Reasoning being if a game is going on in a field beside you (ie if you were walking to ferns thru the town field and a game was in play on jungle)
Im not really too strict on what sort of goggle you use to play - I understand there are airsoft goggles
Im relying on the LMAG leaders to weed out idiots that are wearing unsafe gear

also I noticed you mentioned your Paintball go's to 2:00! If the first timing isn't possible due to parking, what about Airsoft starting at 2:30 (this would give a chance for the parking lot to clear, and airsoft could run 2:30 to 8:pm?

though the largest number of player would likely rather play 9am-4pm ish hrs.

I like the idea of the 2:30-8pm games on Saturdays also if car pooling is required I live in Port Moody and am willing to take a 2nd or 3rd person in my car with somewhat ample trunk space. Also if anyone wants a laminated copy of the map for MRP let me know I have access to a colour printer and laminator at work

The overflow parking is along the road very close to the parking lot (in front of Fred's house and goats).

We are curious about parallel parking further south along the access road and will review our ideas with Aaron.

Also, we have a detailed map of the site and can review it with anyone.

The times I posted are misleading
In the on-season (march-oct)
We do 2 sessions - 10am til 2pm and 2pm til 6pm - so there isn't really a "dead" time for the lot after 2pm
Fred does have other chunks of land and may not mind if we use it to park/stage - ill do some exploring and see if its suitable

I do think we can work something out either along the road or just off of it depending on conditions
Ive spoken to some of your main guys about that and we will keep working on it

I mainly wanted to post just to say that sat games can be a possibility
