Ooh boy is this one going to be short and sweet.
Every gearbox has an ARL. It had only one function, to stop the gears from spinning in the wrong direction. Each version gearbox is slightly different so make sure you purchase the correct one.
The ARL is located in your gearbox and contacts to your bevel gear. If for some reason your piston gets short cycled. (piston gets pulled back 60% and stops) the ARL stops your gears from spinning backwards under the tension of your piston spring.
This part is crucial for your gearbox. If you notice abnormal wear on your ARL its time to replace it. Either this part works or it doesn’t. They are made from metal and very rarely fail (3 years and no replacements)
