BB weight.

Post2014-02-14 / 05:24 UTC GMT +00:00

There are a ton of different weight BB's out there. Different weights will act differently from every AEG they are shot from. That being said I am going to explain what weight bb's I use and why in my airsoft replicas. I'm not saying that the weights I am using are perfect but they are the ones that work for me.

Current weights available on the market include.

.12- pretty much every color available
.20-white
.23-white-
.25-white
.28-white
.30-white
.32-white
.36-green
.40-tan
.43-black
.66-black
.88-black

I’m a huge fan on white bb's because you can see them fly all the way to your target. The negative aspect of this is your enemy can also see them flying towards them. Black or green bb's are very hard if not impossible to trace to your target.

The most common weight bb I use is a .28, I use this weight in all my AEG's shooting from 370-400FPS. I have found that a .28 gives great full auto groupings as well as excellent accuracy in all my AEG's. I find that they punch through light foliage and retain a constant FPS downrange all the way to my target.

I use .30's when I use my DMR at 450FPS. I find that the small increase in mass gives me that little bit more range over my enemies.

.25's in my TM glock, (300FPS) .25's fly relatively fast and still gives great accuracy at shorter distances.
.28 in my KWA 226 (330FPS) KWA Gbb pistols like heavier weight bb's and I find that .28 gives me the best balance from speed and accuracy.

.40 in my 500 fps BAR. these bb's are one of the heavier ones available in today’s market. I find that because they are so heavy they have great distance and accuracy depending on the platform it is shot out of.

Matrix 0.43g Black
I've tried this and I have no trouble seeing where it lands on a fairly bright day.
Accuracy - I'd say it's Okaayyy.

WE Bio 0.43g Light Green

Accuracy - it is far better than Matrix.

Color is not an issue for me so I guess I prefer black but accuracy is more important
