Low cap, Mid Cap, high Cap? which ones for you???

Many players use many different types and styles of magazine for their AEG. Of course you need to match your AEG with the correct magazine for it to feed correctly, Ak mag for AK’s, M4 mags for M4 platforms ect ect.

Low caps:
These magazines are the best for SIM oriented player or DMR users. They usually hold a maximum capacity of 30 bb’s which closely replicates its real steel counterpart. If you like to constantly reload and like carrying 10+ magazines on you low caps might be the way to go.

Mid caps:
Mid caps magazines are the most common amongst LMAG players. They hold anywhere from 100-190 bb’s and are expelled through the magazine from a single spring that is held under tension from the bb’s themselves. These magazines are great for the full auto capable players. High quality Midcap magazines are capable of feeding 50+ bb’s per second.

High caps:
These magazines are common amongst newer players. They are normally included in entry level AEG’s and have an outstanding 400+ bb capacity. These magazines require the user to manually wind a wheel that puts tension on an internal spring to feed the bb’s up through the magazine. One downfall to this style of magazine is that it rattles when you move around.

So what type of magazines do you use and why?

  • Mid cap mostly - quiet on trail, action reloads
  • high cap often - laziness

I always preferred to have mid caps. I dont spray and pray so 100 rounds lasts me quite a while and the one high cap that I have for my sidearm (mpk5) pisses me off. When I run I can always hear it shaking, I've got to get around to getting a new mid cap.
I'm so operator when my battery dies I take my barrel out and use it as a blow gun.

As a newer player to airsoft, I used high-caps. Mainly, because I didn't have to reload as much, also because I only need 2 of them to get me through the day rather than having 6+ midcaps. Now that I have some experience under by belt and learned that it isn't advantageous being a walking beacon of jingles and jangles, I bought some mid caps. I'm looking forward to the more realism and less of a concert in my vest pockets. Thanks as always Gunny for your informative posts.

I carry 6-8 mid caps and usually one full high cap as a last resort. I find that the full high caps make very little noise while in a pouch, but once you take a few shots they become tactical maracas.

The only time I ever use hicaps is in a support weapon.
Some people think I am trying to be sneaky, its really that my eyes are not as good and I have to make sure its a tree and not the enemy! Trees do not call hits. I have shot a few.

I use them all, you want tactical low noise then low/mid caps, but the only mag's for realism would be 30 round low caps and a weapon that shoots a max of 700-800 rounds per min! and you can only carry 10 mag's max and a spare 100 BBs for a max of 400 rounds loud out. that's authentic in the CF anyway.

That's why I just use what feeds and is convenient ;)
you went FULL RETARD!!
