I plan to order my first AEG from an American supplier (Airsoft GI) and pay to have it "Canadianized" for our laws. Is it cheaper, generally, to also buy the battery, BBs, magazines, etc. from America too, or should I buy just the AEG and purchase all the accessories in Canada?

If it is relevant, I'm looking to get a CYMA AKS-101 or a AKS-74U.

Have you considered a local retailer?

Help thy neighbour yo. And by that I mean check out the local guys. Might as well keep your Canadian dollars in Canada.

I tend to purchase guns in canada and accessories in the US or overseas, I always lean on the side of caution when it comes to having a gun cross the border, but I'm also a big cheapskate, if I can save $10-$20 by waiting 2 months for parts from china I will... But that's just me.

There are some good prices online in Canada for aeg's and accessories. As for local retailers, know your prices before you go unless you want to pay double in some cases.

There are also some sales going on among the local retailers for christmas.

Trigger airsoft, Badlands PB, Milsig and Pocomilitary have sales on.

Revolution Airsoft has a crazy sale on AEG's until Christmas and they're Canadian. For a quality AK I would recommend LCT or RealSword. LCT's are available for a reasonable prices at Trigger and ASG. If you are going to buy from the US, Airsoft GI has the best customer service by far. Buy your batteries and chargers in Canada incase they are faulty and you need to return them. You can save quite a bit of money on BB's and magazines if you order a bunch from the US but shipping costs will negate your savings unless you use a parcel pick up business on the US side of the border and then declare them when you drive across. DONT EVER EVER EVER try to import a sidearm. The quality brands like Marui and KWA are cheap enough to buy online in Canada and at a couple of local retailers. {APS in Richmond has over twenty different Marui models in stock and they're not the cansoft versions}
