When disassembling my gun, there are two pins, one in the front and one in the back. The one in the front was very stff took quite a while to get out but once it was back in it was completely sturdy. However on the second pin it was quite the opposite. I could easily push the pin out but when i put it back in it was a lot less sturdy. It won't come out, but when i put the gun horizontal it will either slide farther into the gun or back out. Is this normal or should i be worried about this? If it's a bad thing i can I fix it? I would really like to be able to install my own hop up and inner barrel without having to buy 50$ extra for someone else to do it.

Alright false alarm, playing around with it for a little bit i seem to have figured out that if u turn the pin a bit right it locks into place. However is till would like to have an answer about whether upgrading your own gun is normal. Is it worth the 50$ to have someone do it for me or is it quite easy and once i learn it will be second nature?

Upgrading your own gun is completely normal. I understand the theory of how to upgrade my gun by watching videos and how to's, but I still had someone else help me the first time because I didn't want to mess anything up.

You can probably find someone on the forums or at a game that can help you.

It would help if we knew what kind of rifle you were talking about.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DONT TAKE YOUR GUN APART UNLESS YOU ARE 100% SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

There are a ton of tiny screws/shims that can go missing and these parts are essential to keep your AEG running the way it should.

ask someone to help if you are unsure, most m4's you don’t need to take both receiver pins out to slide the upper off the lower, just the front pin.


this is my theory, we run around and play with guns that were made offshore, not saying that they all are a piece of crap but were talking pot metal, loose tolerances and parts made with quality issues. The more you take them apart, the more things break. I personally get my AEG's running the way I like it and leave it alone until something internally breaks, open it up, do a complete overhaul of needed parts and carry on.

My gun is a g&g tr418.

That was my first idea but after realizing it will cost 50$ extra to upgrade it i found some tutorials on youtube and watched them but couldnt find a single one for the tr418. Also theres a really stiff screw that i gave up on because i didnt want to strip it. I was thinking that maybe next time im on the field and hav somerhing i want to upgrade ill get someone to help me pre-game

I wouldn't recommend doing upgrades prior to a game, this is how most people lose small parts from their guns. There are however some techs who will take your gun and do your upgrade for you, but it is really best to do this in a controlled area where you won't lose a small hard to replace part. If you are really keen on working on the gun yourself do as much research as possible first. Also you should know what effect the upgrades will have on your gun, for instance if your gun already shoots 390ish FPS, you probably don't want to add a tight bore barrel because it'll put your FPS over 400, or you would need to downgrade the spring as well. Just some food for thought.
