Gun Tech in Langley area

I made it out to my first game sunday and had a blast, but I was surprised to find that my G&P Canadian Carbine was shooting about 300 fps (with .2g bb). It apparently should fire 360-380 stock. Only thing I've changed is the barrel to a 6.03 tight bore madbull barrel. I had hop-up turned off for the chrono. Are there any techs in my area that would have time to take a look at it for me? I am quite the novice still when it comes to troubleshooting.
Thanks,
DT

Hmmm, you sure you are using .20s?

I am in no way shape or form a "gun doc" but it sounds to me like you might have a air leak somewhere in between your bucking, barrel or nossel. I just fixed a guys Lonex m4 and brought it back up to 390 FPS (.20) from 350fps with a new (better) bucking and some good ol GUNNY tricks and some TLC.
but no i will not take apart your gearbox and change the spring. I can do it but its not worth it for me to assume responsibility if i fuck something up.
if you need the GB opened give it to Damageinc. Best gun doc hands down in canada.....
if you want me to have a look for you i can.
and yes i am in langley.

I'll try out a new bucking first, if I'm still stuck I'll see Damageinc. (assuming he has time)

The gun he fixed was mine and it's shooting a lot better now, thanks.
Maybe you didn't put the new barrel in properly?
Why did you upgrade the inner barrel before you played? I know that it may increase fps and accuracy. (I've heard for some people it doesn't or it's marginal)

in my experience barrel type/quality is only 1/3 your accuracy formula. There is also hop up chamber and bucking.
my most accurate AEG consists of a
Prometheus hop up chamber
Prometheus purple bucking
Prometheus 300mm 6.03 barrel
BB bastard .28 bb's
400 FPS (.20)
230+ FT range. witnessed my CHAR.

Yeah, the real story is that I bought the barrel when I was first investigating what to buy, then installed it when i knew less than i know now (which still isn't enough imo). Chances are if I take it apart and replace the bucking and put it back together properly it should be back up to speed and hopefully not over because I don't know what happened to the stock barrel, not that replacing the spring would be all that difficult.
EDIT: Just finished replacing the bucking, did a quick test fire before to get an idea in my head of the speed and it seems a lot faster after I put in the new bucking. Won't be able to chrono until the next game i make it to or when my chrono arrives (it's on backorder...). Thanks for the advice everyone.

For future reference, refer to the Modifications Section (in the Armoury subsection) for a list of local gun technicians.

As an update, I had ordered a Chrono and just got it the other day. After replacing the bucking it's shooting 370-380, so all is good. Thanks for the suggestion
