Where to start

Hey, Im relatively new to airsoft.

I played a little bit with cousins and some friends, but I have pretty much no idea where to start playing a little more professionally. Im willing to take things seriously, I just need someone to really show me around, as airsoft is something I have always kind of found interesting, but I never really had a proper push to get into it more :P Im pretty shy and one of the things keeping me from getting into this is that I have no friends who share this interest, and I learn best when someone can physically show me around something.

I know its kind of weird and stupid, but is anyone kind enough to let me tag along for a game? Thanks in advanced.

welcome to your new obsession! by all means come out to a game(check the game sign ups section) and there will be lots of people willing to show you the ropes. if you don't have a gun you can post up in the gun rentals/rides section.

Also perhaps a stupid question but although game days are posted, how do you know which field will be used

Questions are never stupid. Only the people who ask them. When a game day is posted it will say what the hosting field is ie: [Sun] Feb02 - LMAG Games @ Maple Ridge or something along those lines

Preferably one that shoots bb's. Of the 6mm biodegradable variety or silicon if you're a hard ass muthafucka frum da block bussin' glocks. This is one of the many commandments of the holy BBwarzinginging. Personally I recommend the Dopple Glack. It's a great starter gun and VERY user friendly. It works for both lefty and right shooters. Ergonomically it's a phenomenal weapon. Dopple Glack utilizes a new 'flip reload' which save both time and energy enabling you to get back in the fight and dishing out maximum level operating simultaneously. This is the weapon that has quickly become a 'must have' in the gun fighter world and is highly endorsed by Travis Costa and Chris Haley of Pulmag: Ludus Strategic. I hope this helps with your search.

Butt seriously. I'd go with an M-4 platform lots of bells and whistles can be attached both figuratively and literally. But what is wonderful about this rainbow filled and unicorn inhabited world of BBwarzinginging that you have stumbled upon is the fact that YOU CAN DO WHAT EVER THE HOLY JEHOVAH F;)K YOU WANT. At the end of the day it comes down to what YOU want and what YOU like. Come out play rent/borrow/lease/fondle endlessly a gun from one of our many denizens and begin your journey.

TL;DR: Come out play rent/borrow gun figure out what you like/want before your start pouring and I mean POURING money into your newest and soon to be most loved hobby

Welcome aboard.
There is a allot of stores that have Airsoft these days. My advice is to go to one of the local stores and view the many rifles available on the market. You should be able to grab a rifle from the shelves and see how it feels for you. G&G Combat Machines M4's are popular for starting out as to pricing and light weight rifles.
As suggested though, it maybe best to rent one out and see if this is hobby/sport you wish to invest on which can lead to a empty wallet at times
Again, welcome aboard

I think Cmangat went off his meds!

Best thing you can do is sign up for a game day and post to rent a gun from someone who is coming. I generally have a spare gun and some basic gear I don't mind renting out (for games I'm at). Best thing to do is play a game or two before deciding what you want to buy. Ask people about their guns and gear, if you see something that you think looks cool just ask about it, pretty much everyone will happily tell you all about whatever gun/gear you want to know about.

Btw your avatar is great, I love that show.
