Question about approved muzzle velocities

On another note, I found another gun while browsing evike and I'm wondering if I could get some input/thoughts.

I have read that as far as the brand name goes, it is on the cheaper side, however, I'm not really looking to spend too much on an airsoft gun at this time. I am also planning on stopping by Gorilla surplus later this week to check out what they have if I have time.

JG and Dboys has aftermarket compatibility issues when replacing or upgrading parts.

Gorilla has lots of G&G rifles (last time I went) and they are good. For a descent rifle spend atleast $250 and up. If you are 18yr old, best is to get Age Verified so you will have access to the Buy And Sell section. Now that I have enough knowledge about airsoft guns and if I were to buy my first gun, I would buy a used and upgraded one.

Thanks for the input. I'm 21 so I'm assuming I just need to bring ID to access their buy and sell section? The reason I'm thinking about buying these cheaper quality guns is because I'm not really looking to spend too much money or upgrade it. I was just going to buy it and stick a RDS or scope onto it. I am looking to get an M16, and based on the reviews for these guns, they seem to be pretty good for the price.

I did check craigslist for used airsoft guns, but I don't really know what to look for when buying it second hand/used which is why I'm leaning towards a new one.

That's a common mistake people make. Spend cheap on guns but when it breaks, you will end up spending more. I know some people who bought APS brand guns before..they were cheap but when it starts to break, the couldnt get a replacement parts because its not compatible with aftermarket. They ended up tossing the gun.

What brands would you consider looking out for at Gorilla surplus? I wouldn't mind pushing my budget up a little bit but I'd still like an M16 or a DMR that has the M16 SPR look.

For M16's the more decent brands on the cheaper end of things are G&G and Echo1. If you can afford to take a look at the top tech G&G, G&P, VFC or Echo1's platinum series (actually made by VFC), they are going to be much better investments as they won't have as many issues as the low priced guns. I would avoid APS and Dboys.. Some people get lucky but my experience with both has been awful.

I have an Echo1 Platinum M16, as I said it's actually made by VFC, if you come out to a game I'm at I can definitely show you, but it's probably easiest to go into a shop and feel a few guns.

All of the Armalite-type airsoft on Gorilla's website are G&G.

I'm not sure whether they have others. Their sister shop downtown (Camouflage) sells several brands we recommend, so they might have them too.

I decided to fork up little more money and ended up buying this:

I bought goggles and a face mask but after trying it out at home, it's feeling a little uncomfortable and I'm thinking of getting a full mask like this:

Although it's meant for paintball, am I allowed to use it? If not, can someone recommend something similar to this (protection for the entire face and sides of the head)? Also, if anyone does use a mask, are there any issues, like aiming down scopes/sights, as I have read that some masks can get in the way.

If I can get all set up, I'm hoping to make it out this sunday, if not, then hopefully next weekend.

IF your sealed goggle eye protection is certified for paintball use (ASTM F1776) or ballistic use (ANSI Z87.1), then you can use it.
