New gun, need a hand

people have done it before but my question to you is why?

my bolt action rifle is using a 430mm inner barrel and souring .40's +250feet.

375fps@100ft w/. 25 BB

I'm able to hit 10/10 on a cardboard beerflat, not sure how much more reliable reach I would have, not more than 30 feet I'd imagine. The hop up is set so its flying more or less parallel with the ground, a bit of an arch, if I set it one click down it lobs the balls, one click up and the balls tend to take off... Out of the 10 or more clicks, the first 3 are the only ones remotely usable at 100ft... Less my knowledge of how this works is off. Just wondering if a barrel, or another 75-100fps would be a better initial upgrade

Better yet, what BBs should really be used for a sub 400fps sniper rifle? That could have the biggest performance boost and I'm not even realizing it. Damn me and my paintball knowledge haha

In my experience anything under 400fps should not be heavier than .28s
Most dmr's I have seen use .3s
And snipers 450 and over use anything from .3s to the heaviest you can get.

Just a question as to why you chose a sniper as your first gun. Not sure how much research you have done but when I first started airsoft I was gung-ho for a sniper. But I borrowed my buddies l96 a couple times and found out that sniping isn't all that great for a new player. Not saying you won't like it. It's just not for everyone. I would recommend a good DMR if you find out it's not all that you hoped for. I recently got my first sniper after 2 years of airsoft and will be slowly upgrading it over the years

I have several milsim paintball guns, I find I use my sniper rifle 99% of the time. I have a ghillie suit and everything. As a 10-15 year old I lived in the Okanagan, had a 22 cal with a 3-9 scope and got paid to control the marmot, ground squirrel populations on several of the ranches. I enjoy the aspect and fully know what it entails. Just new equitment and the mechanics behind the parts I'm unfamiliar with , I appreciate all the help! Its coming together

choosing bb weight is something that's totally on you. I know CMAG used .40's in his 430FPS sniper rifle with dead on accuracy.

if it was me shooting a sub 400 fps sniper rifle I would go with a .28-.32

OK, well when I got my gun I purchased some Tamashi .25 bio... I notice, EVERY shot pulls hard right, big curve. In order to hit my 100ft target I had to piddle with my scope, but anything in between I'm stuck compensating. There is little to no wind while trying to zero it. The curve is almost as if the hop up is she sideways almost... its a consistent curve, can almost bank on it once you know where it curves too. Is this something I'm going to have to live with or could there be a possible culprate?

that depends on you, do you think you can cut, crown and de burr a barrel?

and again my question is why? what do you think 10-50mm of longer inner barrel will do for you?

During my research into a few guns per purchase... I was seeing a LOT of videos of people shooting mannequin heads at 150 and 200 feet... upgrades are obvious here, but I ask, would/should a $250ish stock springer be able to headshot somewhat reliably at 100-150 feet? @375fps

I know how to sight a scope, proper trigger pull, leadjngnoff a target and breathing, just want to know if I'm going to be begging for some accuracy upgrades my first day out. I realize every gun is different and these are BBs, not live rounds, but I'd like to see better accuracy out of my gun. Even out of the box.
