Starting out, in Whistler?

Post2014-03-20 / 04:34 UTC GMT +00:00

hey i live in whistler and was wondering where would be a good place for me to get started in airsoft. It looks like a lot of fun and it would be something i'd be interested in picking up. Is this even the right place to be asking these questions? I'm having trouble finding people to talk to about getting involved.

Sam,

Let's first shift this over to the New Player Questions forum.

There's one fellow, WWpierre, on AirsoftCanada.com who lives in Squamish....

Organized public airsoft groups have formed and persist in (at least) the following areas in BC:
  • Southern Vancouver Island - Northern Arms
  • Metro Vancouver (GVRD) - LMAG, Omega Ops (new)
  • Mission - Fraser Valley Airsoft Association
  • Penticton - Hard Corps (idle)
  • Kelowna -Airsoft Kelowna
  • 100 Mile House - small group
Two airsoft facilities exist: Bigfoot Games (Mission), and another in Surrey.

The nearest LMAG has played to Whistler so far is North Vancouver Paintball. Mainly because our player base lives in Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, North Vancouver, Maple Ridge, Mission, Port Coquitlam, Coquitlam, Delta, North Delta, Langley, Abbotsford, and Chilliwack. The site involves close-range engagements and has limited space. We have tried to host games on weekday evenings there, with little success over the years.

We encourage you to consider attending one of our events at Maple Ridge Paintball to get started. Many players bring spare AEG's to games and are generally amenable to private rental arrangements.

Please also review the "Airsoft Info" sections noted in the headers above the forum (http://www.lowermainlandairsoft.ca/info) they hold a wealth of information for getting set up and started with airsoft in our part of the world.

You have indeed found the right place to ask about airsoft. Many of the players in LMAG have been playing for more than 10 years and have pursued many blind alleys in the hobby. You may be able to avoid some of those blind alleys after chatting with them.
