RVW: Echo1 M28 Metal piston!

Post2013-02-27 / 03:15 UTC GMT +00:00

It has been a very long time waiting for a metal piston to come out for the m28. I found this seller from another forum offering metal pistons of different levels.
UPGRADED PISTON:
Aluminum piston with stainless sear catch and delrin ring. aprox-$60.00
STANDARD PISTON:
All aluminum. aprox-$45.00

Seller also offers 90 degree m28 pistons, cylinder guides, spring guides and modifications.

I decided to go with the upgraded piston which is made of aluminum with a stainless sear catch. Echo1 has been anything but helpfull with this gun and getting much needed parts to clients. Slamfiring is one of the biggest problems with these guns but other than that this gun is very accurate and shoots hard out of the box. I know there are many people that have these guns and are looking for a resolution to slam firing besides getting better sears.

First look at the piston i realized the part is made quite well and the finish is very good for something that will not be seen. It is the exact demensions as the stock one but much much better construction.

I stongly suggest this product to anyone with the echo1 m28. The seller went above and beyond to make sure i was happy with the product and the process.

Great find Kozak. I will be needing to order up a new cylinder kit before I run into the damage the slam-firing causes :o
I tryed the Danger worx W or fanged hop-up bar to try and replace the plastic stock one but it did not have enough contact on a .40 or .43 to get the back-spin going. I went back to the stock one and modified it.
Have you found a better hop-up bar?

Great review Kozak. I will be ordering one as soon as my stock one fails.
Claymore I installed the Danger Werx flat hop up bar with a Fire Fly hop up rubber and it's hopping .4's with ease. I'll bring it out next time for you to try.

Thanks Loops,

I saw Prairie Chicken and a few others have better success with the `W`or fanged danger werx hop-up bar in their TM sniper rifles.

I was not to worried about it I figured that with the vast sharing of this Club I would find a solution.

As much as I`m on the fence about playing sniper (I think I might take it up when I get OLD ). About three weeks ago we had a scenario game with snipers and as frustrating it is using a rifle that you have not practiced on and you do hit your target from a great distants (260ft.) It is a pretty good feeling Especially if your target calls the HIT 8-)

I feel the same way about playing the sniper role. Every time I think about running one on the field I end up changing my mind and grabbing an AEG. Although my hop up bar is the flat bump style the Fire Fly hop bucking has two ''fangs'' on it.

I just installed the zkit rhop in my vsr-10 the other day. it took about an hour to shave the patch down but i would rater ruin rubber than a very expensive pdi inner. Anyway i use the stock hopup chamber and can overhop .43s with the hopup engaged half way. I still need to tinker (as the bbs fly a bit to the left) with it but i would suggest giving the Rhop a try if your not getting enough backspin. I have heard the flat hopup bar is better for rhop but the stock tm 2 prong works just fine for me. For 13 bucks go give it a try.
