SNIPER COURSE APRIL 7TH

Post2013-04-08 / 15:50 UTC GMT +00:00

First off I would like to say that we picked an AMAZING DAY to host our Milsim. Not a drop of rain until it hit 5:30. The next morning for the sniper course it was pouring rain. I felt like Forest Gump in that scene where he said “there was even rain coming in from the side”. We entered the barn and did our sniper theory lesson while trigger went outside and played in the monsoon...hehehe. After the sit down lesson the rain held up for our target and distance recognition test. We had lunch where it poured rain and it stopped 100% when we did our approach and FFP test.

Great job students, Everyone did a great job.

Cheers.

That course was fun, a lot better than I was expecting it to be. At the end of the day, I couldn't see the camo on my front side due to crawling through the mud (it was worth it). Even though in a year I don't need to have a 550 fps sniper, I'll take it again because I had a good time.

Especially when Bushman used the rope swing
Primary: SR10 400fps, M4 395fps, M14 410fps, AK 330fps
Secondary: USP Tac 350fps, MK23 Socom 326fps, MP9 325fps
Camo: Marpat

Sorry for late post but had personal thing to look after first.
LMAG Sniper course Level 2&3
Weather; Heavy rain until after lunch with clearing. Nice muddy course!
Instructors; Bushman, Char Assistants; Gunny and Rampage
Class consisted of 1.5 - 2 hours classroom instruction and 2.5 hours on field
Safety, concealment, patience, radios, guns, ghillies, med's, shooting positions, distances and final firing positions are covered in the class time.
Next is the range estimating course. Students are to range objects from 75 feet, (below med for 500 fps) out to about 300 feet. This is not easy and always recommended for students to practice.
A quick break for lunch and off to the always exciting bound test. In this the students must walk, crawl, and sneak into a position without being seen by the instructors into their firing position, ask permission, then take the shot. Several players were seen and sent back to start position.
This test started at 13:30 hrs.
Distance and times are as follows:
Sub Zero-132 ft @ 14:03
Ackme-198 ft @ 14:07
FBI -120 ft @14:17
Casper -90 ft @ 14:20
Pinoy - 102 ft @ 14:24
Faded -159 ft @14:25
Bumble Bee - 108 @ 14:25
Drunken - 99 ft 14:34
Fire Fox -87 ft @14:34
Titan - 102 ft @ 14:48
Xcon - 45 ft @ 15:00
Neal - 71 ft @ 15:00
All students MUST follow rules for minimum engagement distances for their guns velocity.
Congratulations to everyone and Happy Hunting!
Some people think I am trying to be sneaky, its really that my eyes are not as good and I have to make sure its a tree and not the enemy! Trees do not call hits. I have shot a few.
