im afraid i already know the answer to this but i thought i might as well ask.

plastic pistol outer barrel, can that be LEGALLY imported into canada from our neighbours from the south?

I feel like it should be fine. The prohibited part is the lower frame, so I imagine ordering full slide kits including the barrels are good to go. Just the barrel should then be good to go if that's the case

never had troubles with inner or outer barrels for anything including the real deals uppers have been fine too, not tried a lower frame of anything

Technically it is the serial number that matters, if the real steel equivalent has a serial number on that part it should not be imported. That being said the only item that seems to be spotted for this is lower frames. Generally outer barrels, slides, etc.. are fine even though the real steel versions have serial numbers on them in many cases.
