Hey all! I'm in the process of swapping my stock m16 handguards to a free float r.i.s. then I come across the delta ring. I am not familiar with mil spec delta rings so my question is this, if I do not have an ar wrench is there a way I can get the sucker off? And if not where can I find this tool?

If you are planning on keeping the ring scratch free put some tape around it and then some tape around the jaws of a large pipe wrench and you should be fine.

Since the body is aluminum it will snap if there is too much torque so be careful. Seen this done on a PTW.

Also, with new ring. go slowly. Lots of people have damaged threads by just forcing it on. Backing it off and restarting wont kill you and may ensure you don't damage things.
