As the subject line says, we have seen and heard all the horror stories in the past of trying to buy airsoft outside of Canada and bring it back "legally"

lets hear the success stories! with the news laws how have we been doing?

I just made my first order and successful import of an airsoft AEG.

I must say it was painless, made an order from EVIKE, cost me $8 for them to prep it for export (they chronoed it and wrote up a nice letter for the CBSA quoting the import /export laws and the ref numbers of the Bill.

AEG was 10 days going through EVIKES shipping and packaging (slow!) then UPS to my door was 5 days.

so what did it cost, what did I save.

first off they had a 20% off promo, the gun was on sale 20% off, shipping to my door was $27 and the broker/duty fee was $21

total $222........how much northside, well cheapest place I found the gun on sale (but had no stock naturally) was $385 tax and shipping ind.

So in the end I waited 2 weeks and saved $163..

Did you contact evike before the order, in regards to prep and whatnot?

Does it count that I ordered a frame for a KJW glock 23 before knowing that it was illegal to import and it still came through? Now that I've heard stories from others I wouldn't do it again, but I guess I got lucky or ran into a customs agent who didn't know the import laws on this subject and just allowed it.

Never ordered a full gun from out of country though.

I've been debating doing this, I'm just looking into what paperwork I will need, did Evike do all of the paper work for you?

no pre contact, I know not to order an AEG that shoots less than 366FPS or higher than 500fps since those are the legal limits of importable airsoft, I just ordered on line like you would for gear or parts, they noticed from the address it was coming to Canada and they did the rest.

if you were driving it across you would need to have copies of the import laws regarding airsoft (at least I would) but I will never drive one across, too much hassle and time waist, maybe in a year or two when the CBSA gets there act up to speed but at this time it is just to time consuming to process claiming it and haveing to "show" them "their" laws!!

nope much easier to just order it and wait an extra couple days for it to arrive, as long as it shoot between 366-499 it is fine, I am going to stick with EVIKE, Airsoft GI and Airsplat for now, they are up on the import laws.

to answer you question, there is no paper work if you get it sent across.

I'm fine with a little wait if it saves money... Today is my 54th day of waiting.

To be honest cook-off, I'd rather have the CBSA agents more educated and up to date on more important laws and regulations then a small crowd of guys that wanna import airsoft rifles and pistols. I mean they do have a pretty tough job, determining and doing a quick on the spot background check to see if someone coming into our country could be considered or deemed a threat. I realize that sounds a bit blasphemous to our sport. But in the bigger picture, would you rather have to wait a couple more days/spend a few more dollars on an AEG, or have the CBSA let in total freedom haters and idiots into our country? That is a bit extreme I admit, but I mean we're such a niche group for them to concentrate on.
