2015 Sniper course.

Post2015-03-07 / 01:15 UTC GMT +00:00

Is one happening this year at all?

If there is enough interest in one we can have one. My schedule is not great right now and going to get worse. However I can make some time if we get enough people posting about it. The listed max velocity for panther is 500 fps so I can't see many people wanting to certify passed level 2. Feel free to PM me with any questions.

Me and a buddy are interested in getting BA certified if someone is running the sniper course this year.

I've got a brand new BAR10 in box just waiting to be upgraded and put to use, once I finish my main primary build.

Is anyone enforcing the certification in B.C. Or Alberta? Cause it doesn't make a difference at P.

Honestly, before I moved to BC it seemed like mostly an Ontario/East thing. We knew about it, but no one used it. JOC had their own certification system. I know of a few guys that actually travelled to Manitoba or Ontario just to get it because no one in Alberta really used it. I've never played at a field that had a sniper limit over 500 FPS out there and there were no MEDs for 420 FPS and under. Also a DMR limit was rare, but if there was one your gun had to be a proper DMR platform, with a scope and stabilization device, as well as physically pinned for semi-auto. But if it is still used here and there, I'd still like to get it.

I think taking the course will make people realize the importance of learning to judge distances, and what to look for if there is a sniper operating in your area. Among other things.

I think that P today is not enforcing sniper limits, but continuing the course will help raise the quality of snipers.

Plus, I always thought that the guys who had the patience and interest to take the course were reliable on the field and deserved respect. Every little effort we make towards keeping the "little things" going will keep the airsoft community "soul" intact.
