Guard Dog Glasses

Post2014-08-12 / 08:02 UTC GMT +00:00

Anyone else see this brand of glasses/goggles? Trying to find a reason why they wouldnt be allowed to play, but it looks like they may meet all neccesary requirements, as debatable as they may be.

I was looking more specifically at the "dustbuster" version

They don't seal around your eyes.
I have tried a pair of goggles similar to that that did have a seal around the eyes and they fogged worse than anything I've ever tried. Not sure any shooting glasses style goggles work in our climate. But I could be proven wrong

Didnt I see foam around the glasses frame or is that not enough "seal"? My biggest concern would yes, be fogging...hell mrp fogs dual pane goggles with fans :lol: Seriously though, is that not enough seal around the frames?

Ah sorry you're correct, it was the side profile that threw me off, looks like a big gap on the fake head. They should be usable but fogging will probably be an issue..

I've tried a set of these:

And they fogged quite a bit for me.

For a while I was debating trying a set of oakley M-frame's and adding this to get a seal:

but for the cost and the chance they would fog like nuts I decided against it.

As a suggestion :-> http://www.bbbastard.com/eyepro/go-spec ... ystem.html
I have tested out a pair on the field last weekend and seem to work fine with a small bit of fogging however I uses anti-fog wipes and they held up nice. For the price they are worth, they seem not too shabby!

One thing I noticed about the Guard Dog models is that you can special order certain models with perscription lenses! I wear glasses.. and need to if I'm ever going to see an enemy player from a distance and that almost sounds like the perfect solution. Now if only they were dual-pane thermal lens like the Pyramex I-Force:

I have a pair of these and it looks like the have all the proper safety ratings and they are full seal. They didn't do well with preventing fogging back in January at MRP, but I've had better luck with them during Spring and hopefully Summer. If only they were prescription capable!

I'll post a review after I've had a chance to run them a few times later in August!
