In my pile of airsoft guns, in there is a $2200 Fight club company M-4 at one end and a $300 Home brew M-4 at the other (well there is also a polar star in there now also but no rating yet) , both shoot the same distance and split hairs in accuracy!

so money spent or brand may not be all that important, some of my best guns have been CYMA, I did my minor mods to them but they usually speak for then selves on the field and there $200!

all guns have to shoot well and be reliable or they get stripped down for the parts barrel.

I have my fav AEG's and tend to use them more, but variety is my hobby, I love to get a problem gun and make it work well, that's the high!

Sometimes you just get that one gun that never goes down, never gives you issues. Sometimes you get that one gun that has a curse on it. My first airsoft gun was cursed badly. It was custom built AEG M4 from the ground up. This was nine or more years ago, and it had a Metal body, Systema Mechbox and gears, G&P hop-up (I think), etc, etc. It never lasted long, always seemed to break down and jam. It was the most expensive standard AEG around, and it just wouldn't behave. One day I was playing a game up in Seven Persons, which is just outside Medicine Hat Alberta. I had caught a guy out in the open, at maybe a 80 - 100 feet or less. My stupid AEG couldn't hit him for the life of me, so I pulled out my stock Tokyo Marui P226 and drilled him with two rounds. That was the moment I decided to buy a Systema and never looked back.

It was an M4 challenge kit that eventually was modified into an M16 over time. Over eight years later I'm on my second motor, both were modded, and second set of boards because I fried the first ones. Since then there has bed a lot of improvement in airsoft technologies. Other than a fully modified Systema, the furthest two shooting platforms I have ever seen were a Tokyo Marui VSR G-Spec (440 FPS), and a RA-Tech M14 EBR Level III (450 FPS). That EBR was beautiful, but heavy as balls. 19 pounds I think, total.

Then there was a buddy of mine that had an old Frankenstein AEG M4, and it ran for years and years and years without issue. It could only get a BB out to about 120 - 150 feet at 390 FPS and we called it the garbage can, but stupid reliable.

Other than that, I've seen a Tokyo Marui MK23 with the mod, shoot a target at nearly 200 feet. One of my other favorite one-off guns was an old A&K M60 a buddy had. A&K used to be known for their good quality, but heavy externals, and their unreliable internals. Anyways, he tuned this sucker up real tight, and beefed up the ROF as well as the FPS to about 380 - 400. He'd only run 0.20g BBs through it. So it wasn't at all that accurate, but out past 150 feet those damned 0.20s would come at you in a cloud, and still have enough juice to bounce all over with force. I've never scene a gun keep more peoples heads down so effectively.

You'll hear a ton of praises of the TM MK23 with this club, many of us run one, especially in the winter when the gas efficiency is important.

Talk to BigBuzz666 on ASC. He carries them reasonably priced, and often offers discounts when you order through ASC. I believe he has some in stock right now.

Redwolf has them, which means Milsig can bring them in since TM rerelease Mk23's earlier this year. Most of the DD's have one as a sidearm.
