OPERATION ICE BACK

Post2014-02-17 / 06:45 UTC GMT +00:00

I was reading up on some of the rules for operation ICEBACK. they are plentiful, and I strongly recommend you read them all bit here are a few that stuck out for me.

.1.1 Players must wear approved eye protection, such as paintball masks, glasses and goggles. Any questionable eye protection is subject to inspection and testing by a field admin.
2.1.2 Goggles/glasses must have a minimum rating of ANSI z87.1+.
2.1.3 Approved eye protection must be secured to the head with a retention strap.
2.1.4 WIRE, MESH, SHOP OR SKI GOGGLES ARE NOT ALLOWED.
2.1.5 We encourage players to use additional head protection, such as balaclavas, full face masks and mouth guards to help minimize potential injuries.
2.2 Minors (Under 18) Eye, Head, and Face Protection
2.2.1 Minors are required to wear ballistic rated or paintball rated goggles. No glasses.
2.2.2 Minors are required to use teeth protection, such as mesh protectors, paintball masks, or similar protective equipment.

5.4.1 The velocity limits for full and semi-auto AEG’s and GBBR’s are as follows:
BB Weight Max FPS
.20g 420
.23g 392
.25g 376
.28g 355
.30g 343
.38g 313
.43g 286
1.64 joules
5.4.2 The velocity limits for bolt action rifles are as follows:
BB Weight Max FPS
.20g 475
.23g 443
.25g 425
.28g 402
.30g 388
.38g 354
.43g 324
2.10 Joules
6.3.1 Grenades giving an audible report (e.g., ThunderB, Madbull CO2, etc.) are approved for use anywhere on the field
6.7.1 Cold smoke only
6.7.2 Even though its cold smoke only smoke grenades are allowed but must be called in and must be watch in heavily wooded areas to prevent fires. Cold smoke still produces some heat.

7.3.1 Lasers Class IIIb and Class IV are prohibited on the field.
7.3.2 Lasers Class I, Class II and Class IIIA (under 5mW) are permitted
7.4.2 Rubber training knives can be thrown underhand at an opposing player. No other throwing style is permitted.

9.2.1 Due to close engagement distances, blind corners and other safety issues, full-auto fire within any building is prohibited. Players are limited to semi-auto fire when indoors.

Gunny, I think we're gonna need to go full GMR. Thunder Bs, Tornados, Lazers, PTWs, Cocaine, Repelling Harnesses, NODs, some more cocaine, some real EOTechs, a couple more pairs of Merrels, some IR Patches, oh, and cyacaine.

Hmm now I need to make a 420 fps build. They "recommend" using a pistol indoors....

As for the fee, I've seen a few different milsims advertised at higher prices like this. I'm not terribly surprised by the cost, but it is steep. I think it's $20 less if you pay before april, but they haven't even opened up registration yet.

Some thunder b's and cold smokes may be fun for this, you have to call in your smokes when you throw them out and watch them, so they can't cover a retreat that well. I also read some of the rules on the respawn points, you have to carry them to the field and set them up, other team can roll them but they also have rules not to spawn camp... NV goggles would be fun for this...

Last year It was $140 early bird I think and I wouldn't be surprised if it's a little more this year as there is an addition day added on. No Tim Hortons thankfully but forty pizzas where delivered. The final night they gave away four or five AEG's and allot of kit from DS tactical.

That being said if you did enough planning and got lucky on cheap airline flights you could attend a big sim in the US for a couple hundred dollars more.

why are these out of town Sim so expensive...$200-$400ish?? don't they just provide a place to play and give you a game scenario, I am sure all their prises are donated.

If that's the case LMAG Sims at $15-$25 is the biggest steal of the decade!! we could run 24hr Sims at Panther also no problem, I have a couple Sims planned that could easily run all through the night, hell from Friday night to Sunday afternoon.

unfortunately, I see 30-40% of the team players all played out and done after 6-8 hrs looking for the parking lot, lol
you went FULL RETARD!!
