Chris Costa knows he stuff. If Airsoft was a religion (which it almost is for some of us). Chris and Travis Haley would be like Matthew and John.

My KJW's are pretty gas effecient. My 1911 has the double stack TM 1911 MEU style mag, so it's still slim, but holds 24 rounds or something around there. Accuracy, well it's kept me alive a couple of times. Blowback is crisp and feels pretty good. But I cannot compare it too a KWA. From what I've seen and heard and know, KWA does put there heart, soul, and effort into pretty much all of their products. But for a starter pistol I'd suggest a KJW. Milsig has the KJW P226 and M9 on sale for about $130. Last new years they also had a deal on for about $200 you got either a KJW m1911MEU, M9 or P226 with an extra mag and case.

In my opinion, its never the best to get your drivers lisence and go from a 92 civic hatchback to a ferarri. But that's just my opnion. Go to the stores, feel em out and try em.

I owned a KWA M1911A1 and it was a good gun. The dark/clear/smoke lower was very solid. Only con is the lack of after market upgrades - compatibility.

I love my TM MK23 and G17. Stock, I don't think my G17 will need upgrades at all. Out of the box it shoots around 320fps (.20), good range and very accurate. Although TM is pricey and hard to get. If you find one in buy and sell, buy it. You lucky if you find one that's already upgraded and usually they come with extra mags and other stuff like holster.

I personally know that I find the Glock , M9 and 1911 a little awkward but I love the feel of the P226.

I have felt both the m9 and the 1911 but not the p226, of those two i loved both, although the m9 also did feel slightly bulky i sis love its heavieness where as the 1911 felt sleek, looked sleek but i dunno, there was something i didnt like and i honestly cant tell what!

Have you checked out the hicapa, glock or m&p?

I'm buying from milsig, and tm and hicapas are fairly expensive. I dont want to buy an expensive pistol as my first pistol because if its like my aeg, this pistol is going to go through much trial and error such as how i like to pull my gun out of my holster, how i operate it, and getting used to recoil. If it ends up like my first aeg, well, itll be in 5 pieces

I wouldn't recommend Milsig for anything at full price, and even their sales aren't always the best, the sale on the KJW tinted lower guns there is actually pretty good, but other than that I would definitely look at other shops. Triggerairsoft or apsram are probably the best priced shops locally. Make sure to compare prices before buying from any of them, many of the shops carry the same products but the prices are sometimes off by $100 or more.

Also, you can now get the KWA 1911 in a double stack with 21 rounds.

My vote P226, one of the most comfortable to hold for sure. But I have large hands.

I have average sized hands and the Beretta is huge (exaggerating). If you do want a starter pistol you should go for the ones at Milsig they have a good deal on the plastic lower ones.

I have the KJW P226. Bought from milsig 199.99 with 3 mags and 4k bbs. Decent gun, fairly accurate. One mag was leaking though so I am left with 2.
Just my backup just in case my primary goes down. Looking to buy a better one down the road.

I have had four KWA GBB's and 24 magazines between them and I have never had a leaky magazine because of their gasket design. I bought a electric pistol last year for the winter but haven't used it because of how well my HK45 shoots in very cold conditions with their new airseal/ hopup design.
The downside is the lack of upgrades like Pinoy said.
I am surprised milsig has any reasonably priced gbb pistols at all. They're usually almost twice the price of other retailers.

I bought a KJW M1911A1 pistol from airsoft gear in July during their pistol sale. I have to say I love it, having said that it is my first gas pistol so I do not have a lot of experience here, but personally.... Me likey. However I've only made it to one game since i bought it so my use with it on the field is not very high. I think I'm going to be out on the weekend of the 21st so if you want to take a look you can. :D
