Yeah I don't really understand why they can't just shut down the game for 30 minutes to bring the helicopter in. Pretty stupid to take 12 hours of game play away from 200 people so that 20 can fly in a helicopter...
I have to agree with Claymore, why go into the field for 12 hours to not play, how much recon can you do in the pitch black..

Well, I can't speak to the helicopters. Was not my decision, and I don't know what solutions were or were not discussed. I'm not a fan of the situation, and have made my displeasure known.

As to the Friday night, the primary idea behind going out is for the experience. Also to gather intelligence on where their own tier 1 players are massing/moving, if possible, and to set people into position for Saturday morning, in the dark, when it would be harder to see how many and where they are going. Moving everyone around Saturday means them seeing where the pieces are, and I am attempting some degree of tactics, in order to ensure a greater chance of success.

Of course, if anyone is uninterested in the aforementioned festivities, you can opt out. I mean, I'm only trying get to give the best possible experience within the limitations imposed on me. If you would like to camp at main base with the Tier 2 players, all I ask is that you let me know this in the next couple of days, so I know what I am working with. If you would prefer, instead, to wait until 0400 before moving off into the brush, I am not opposed to that, either. Again, I had thought that, were it me, I would rather be in position, on the field, geared up and "in the zone" earlier. I had wanted everyone in position earlier, rather than later, to rest, given the long travel time, and the fact that most will be arriving late on that Friday.

How much you want to participate in this simulation is entirely your decision. Just tell me what you are prepared for, what you're up for, and we'll take it from there. This is meant to be fun and enjoyable, and I am so not interested in barking orders at someone that has no interest in what I'm asking them to do.

I know it's kind of a waste of time having us there for Fri night when no pew pew :( involve. BUT as Jukebox's mentioned , it's reasonabel to have everyone there, ready, gather intels, be in position and ready for surprise attacks on the opposing team before sunrise :o . I can imagine how hard to organize the teams to do certain things, be at designated position, briefing etc. ..it will take a long time so having us there is great. THi will also gives us an assessment weather wise so we know how are we going to spend the Saturday night. Will we be sleeping at the base? out on the field? Hate to sleep with rattle snakes, lol. Safety first, so we need to figure this out.

Saturday night will be the real TEST of both sides strength so this is something Op-For has to plan well as how to spend the Sat night.

Jukebox as CO, you have our support man! We will make it easier and smoother for you. Just put us on the frontline and we will get the job done

There is no stoppage Saturday night.
If I understand correctly we can deploy Friday night, sleep in the field and be ready for a game start on Saturday morning at around 9 am.
I will be in the field on Friday, not trying to say I won't play along, just expressing my frustration, and to be honest I am not likely to attend next year now that I know they may randomly change the length of the game by such a significant amount. This was a terrible decision by the game organizers and I plan on telling Stuart so myself.

I had a talk with jukebox and his other teammate Roman to day.

I understand the mindset now even though it's 500 600 acres you still need to be able to insert people and get them there without having to have a big fight just to get into a spot. So just like a commercial fishing open, everyone runs around up and down the river to find a spot but they can not put their nets in until the designated time. I guess it makes sense now the hold up for the helicopters in the morning that's a little silly but that's not my call.

C-Mag & Andre had a good idea everyone dressed up in black robes and hoods and walks and the forest holding candles chanting Latin versus.

I suggested that we have GOATS on strings walking behind groups of the black robes think that might make them shit your pants.... Maybe

Well, just cause theres no fighting the first night, that isnt the worst thing. Correct me if I am wrong but our first op is to get eyes on and then plan and execute an attack on fob2 right at dawn on say morning? Well if thats the case, i have no problem marching in and getting some good eyes set up on fob2 and planning out the attack and other details on it. Plus i have no issues sleeping in the field

I agree, we can make use of this turn of events, even if some of us aren't happy about it.
Also it sounds like HOTSAUSE is in as well, so we have 1 more Tier 1 player.

The best type of recon mission is where no shots are fired. I mean it's a little different in this situation. But still, if we can get into the field before ISAF does and get some solid eyes and intel before dawn, get the best angles of attack sorted out, and sort out contingency plans for the QRF/Tier 2 players, we will have a BC flag (which i will bring) flying over FOB 2 before the sun is 3 fingers over the horizon
